Mary Ann Matilda (nee Veit) Schmidt

Mary Ann Matilda (nee Veit) Schmidt, age 80, of Florissant, Mo., passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015, with her family around her, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church. She was born April 24, 1934,in Osage Bend, daughter of the late Clarence and Anna (nee Mertens) Veit. She was the cherished wife of Tom for 61 years; loving mom of Tom (Leighann) Schmidt, Sharon (Larry) Derhake, Patty (Terry) Bratton, Dan (Barb) Schmidt and Linda Hertelendy; grandma of Thommy, Maryanne (Patrick), Becky (Jerimiah), Mary Beth, Ben (Lauren), Luke, Cindy (Jake), Danny (Maddy), Michael (Niki), Adrie (Craig), Joe, Karch, Garrett and Anna; great-grandma of 10; sister of Clarence (Dorothy), Albert (Marlene), Stan (Charlotte) and the late Quentin (Joyce), Rod (Rose) and Catherine (Larry); dear aunt, cousin and friend. Mary Ann spent her life helping others, and having a positive affect on everyone she encoutered. She devoted her life to her loving grandchildren, influencing their young lives to play a part in who they are today. She was a member of the St. Ferinand Ladies Sodality and adult advisor for the CYC teenagers. Funeral will be from HUTCHENS Mortuary, 675 Graham Rd., Florissant, 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 12, to St. Ferdinand Church for 11:00 a.m. Mass. Interment will be in St. Ferdinand Cemetery.
