Arletta Jerene Wiser, 77, of Eugene, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at her residence. She was born on March 15, 1937, in Eugene the daughter of William Lloyd and Carmen Cleo Miles Blackburn, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on June 12, 1955, in Russellville to Marvin E. Wiser who preceded her in death on August 29, 1994. Arletta graduated from Cole County R-1 in Russellville in 1955. She was the Cole County Deputy Circuit Clerk from 1969 to 1977. She worked for the Cole County Sheriffís Department from 1977 until her retirement in 1992, serving for several years as a Deputy. She loved to go to casinos, enjoyed cooking and traveling. She loved visiting her Amish friends in Clark and most recently she enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her great-grandson. She is survived by: her companion Bob Snell; one daughter, Pamela D. Rackers (Mike) of Eugene; one son, Justin L. Wiser (Chris Engeman) of Kansas City; three grandchildren, Diedre Owens of Eugene, Chad Rackers of Fort Lewis, Wash. and Dustin Rackers of Eugene; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Leroy Blackburn of Russellville. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Mason Rackers. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Houser Millard Funeral Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Community Breast Care Project.
