Shawn Renee Eveler, 48, of Centertown, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015, at her residence, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on December 5, 1966, in Syracuse, N.Y., a daughter of Frank Votra and Loretta Smith Felker. She was united in marriage to Kevin J. Eveler on December 31, 2010, in Elston, Mo. Shawn was a homemaker and a Taxi driver for Checkered Cab for many years. Her hobby was cooking, fried chicken and pizza were her favorite dishes. She enjoyed being on the computer and spending time with the ones she loved. She is survived by: her husband, Kevin J. Eveler of Centertown; two sons, Caelin Jacob Eveler of Jefferson City and James Blake of Springfield, W.V.; her father, Frank Volta of Tallahassee, Fla.; her mother, Loretta Smith Felker and husband, Charles of Sarasota, Fla.; two sisters, Kathy Revette and husband Kevin of N.Y. and Laura Felker of Springfield, W.V.; one brother-in-law, Robert Eveler and wife Debbie of Jefferson City; one aunt, Linda Randall of Syracuse, N.Y.; two uncles, Phillip Smith and Fred Smith, both of Syracuse, N.Y.; two nieces, Amber Smith and Ashley Smith; two nephews, Stephen Smith and Cory Smith; and great-nieces, great-nephews, numerous relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by: her grandparents, Charles and Virginia Smith; one uncle, Ronald Smith; one brother-in-law, Doug Eveler; and her mother and father-in-law, Lorraine E. (Eveler) and Clarence W. Bruemmer. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Msgr. David Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
