Myron "Doug" Sullens

Myron "Doug" Sullens, 78, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015, at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was born June 15, 1936, in Linn, Missouri, a son of the late Leonard and Sadie (Johnson) Sullens. He attended Jefferson City Schools. On June 4, 1955, Doug was united in marriage in Jefferson City, to Anna Mae "Pat" Groves, who survives at their home. Doug had worked at Tennyson's Furniture and Jefferson City Distributors. Doug was later employed for the City of Jefferson, where he worked for over 27 years. He was also employed for the Village of Wardsville for over 25 years as the Village Police Officer. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Doug was an avid Cardinal baseball fan, and loved to listen to country music and make music CD's. Along with his wife Pat, Doug is also survived by five sons: Jeff Sullens (wife Kim) of Jefferson City; Roger Sullens (wife Mollie) of Fulton; Randy Sullens (wife Tina) of Holts Summit; Ricky Sullens (wife Lori) of Taos; Danny Sullens of Ironton; one daughter: Cindy Martin (husband Jimmy) of Palm Bay, Fla.; one sister: Viola Fern Owens of New Bloomfield; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by five brothers: Roy, Floyd, Tommy, Harold, and Ezra; three sisters: Effie, Janie, and Dorothy. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2015, at the Central Baptist Church, 1812 E. McCarty; Jefferson City, Mo., with Rev. Andy Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in the Linn Public Cemetery in Linn, Missouri. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the National Autistic Association or the American Diabetes Association.
