Mary Lou King, 87, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Boone Hospital, Columbia, Mo. She was born October 31, 1927, in Mexico, Mo., daughter of Leslie Milton Blue and Louise Susanna Blue, both deceased. She was married October 31, 1947, to James M. King, who preceded her in death on April 25, 2009. Mary Lou was raised in Bellflower, Mo. and graduated from Bellflower High School. She then moved to Mexico, Mo., and was employed at A. P. Green for five years. Moving to Jefferson City in 1950, she was employed by the Public School Retirement System for several years. In 1955, she resigned to become full-time wife and mother. She and her husband later moved to Lake MyKee, where they lived until moving to Heisinger Bluffs in 2008. Survivors include: two daughters, Leanna (Jim) Hagenhoff of Holts Summit and Teressa (Bob) Gaines of Lake St. Louis; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Mike) Zielinski, Melissa Jennings, Cindy and Tim Gaines; and three great-grandchildren, Damon Jennings, Cameron and Chloe Zielinski. She was preceded in death by: one son, Dale Leslie King; and one sister, Opal Gurwell. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., with a service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 3, 2015, at Heisinger Bluffs Chapel, 1002 W. Main St. in Jefferson City, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heisinger Bluffs or the American Lung Association.
