Kathy Anne Buck

Kathy Anne Buck, age 57 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Capital Region Medical Center surrounded by her family. Kathy was born on November 30, 1957, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Herbert F. and Juanitta M. (Todd) Mahan. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Kathy attended Jefferson City Public Schools. She was employed as the manager of the First Value Inn on Stadium Blvd. for many years until ill health forced her retirement. Previously, she had been employed with several nursing homes in Jefferson City. Kathy was a past member of First Baptist Church and attended the Salvation Army Church when she was younger. She enjoyed playing bingo and having a good time with friends and family. She will be remembered as a caring person who was always willing to help others. Survivors include: four sisters, Connie Prelow, Christina Mahan, and Lennie Mahan, all of Jefferson City, Mo., and Kathie Weed and her husband David of Brazito, Mo.; six brothers, David Mahan, Roger Mahan, Ricky Mahan, Herbert ìGeneî Mahan, William "Billy" Mahan and his wife Mary, and Randy Mahan, all of Jefferson City, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Jack. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 11:00 until 12:00 noon, Monday, August 3, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Monday, August 3, 2015 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Doyle Sager officiating. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church or the Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
