Judith Nixon Burnside

Judith (Judi) Nixon Burnside, 69, of Hamel, Illinois, died Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. She was born May 26, 1945, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of William E. and Rosemary Nixon. She attended Moreau Heights Elementary School and was a 1963 graduate of Jefferson City High School. Judi studied art and earned her BSA degree from Southern Illinois University with a major in psychology. She is survived by three children: Deirdre Burnside-Weaver and husband Andy of Worden, Illinois; William Burnside of Edwardsville, Illinois; and Steve Burnside and wife Bernice of Amarillo, Texas. Also surviving are two siblings: sister, Pat Myers of Worthington, Ohio and brother, Steve Nixon of Webster Groves, Missouri. In addition she was blessed with six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Judi was loved, and will be missed by many friends, neighbors, and her close canine companion Lucy.
