Hazel L. Wilson

Hazel L. Wilson, 79, of Meta, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Linn Community Skilled Care. She was born in Dixon on October 8, 1935, daughter of the late James Thurman and Ina Melinda (Morrison) Deardeuff. On April 3, 1953, in Dixon, Hazel married Lewis Gene Wilson, who survives at the home. Hazel was employed at Ottenhemier and Neely Company in Meta for 27 years. She loved spending time outdoors. She was an active member of Campground Christian Church near Meta where she enjoyed volunteering at many of the church functions. In addition to her husband, Lewis, Hazel is survived by: three sons, Russell Wilson and wife JoAnn of Jefferson City, Daniel Wilson of Federal Way, Wash., and Dale Wilson of Jefferson City; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Darden of Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by: one grandson, Wyatt Wilson; one brother, Harland Deardeuff; and one sister, Pearl Burns. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. Bro. Manuel Seaton will officiate. Interment will be in Pendleton Cemetery near Meta. Memorial contributions are suggested to Pendleton Cemetery or Campground Christian Church.
