Anna Elizabeth Schroeder, age 95, of Jefferson City, formerly of Babbtown, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City. She was born in Babbtown on November 2, 1918, daughter of the late Carl and Sophie (Mueller) Wachtendorf. On November 1, 1945, in Babbtown, Anna married Otto Fredrick Schroeder, who preceded her in death on January 29, 1998. She attended Meta schools and was a homemaker and farm wife. She lived on the same farm where she was born for 80 years. During World War II she lived in Chicago and worked at an electromotive plant. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing, and refinishing old furniture. Anna was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, and VFW Auxiliary Post 8045. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Brenner of Jefferson City; one granddaughter, Valerie Alexander and husband John of Blue Springs, two grandsons, Russell Brenner and wife Angela, and Brandon Brenner, both of Jefferson City; three great-grandsons, Nathaniel Alexander, Ian Alexander, and Evan Brenner; two great-granddaughters, Lauryn Brenner and Hannah Alexander; and one sister-in-law, Rose Schroeder. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Paula Groner, and son-in-law, Larry Brenner. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Monday, March 31, 2014, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Babbtown. Gerald Scheperle will officiate. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John's Church, Hesinger Bluffs Benevolent Care, or Hospice Compassus.
