Maxine A. Polhman

Maxine A. Polhman, 77, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at her home near Rhineland, Missouri, surrounded by her family as they celebrated Christmas. She was born in Americus, Missouri on September 25, 1937, the daughter of the late Ernest and Bernice (Bucker) Korman. Maxine married Alfred J. Pohlman on July 23, 1955, at St. Joseph Church, Rhineland, Missouri. She worked side by side with him to create a home, a family and a thriving dairy farm. Alfred preceded her in death on March 30, 2012. Maxine was a member of Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, Missouri, where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality. She was also a member of the Red Hats, DYOT and Hermann Hospital Auxiliary. She worked as an account clerk for the State of Missouri and retired in 1999. Maxine is survived by a family who loves her dearly including a son, Randall Pohlman and wife Diana of Rhineland; a daughter, Mary Jo Dixon and husband Dru of West Plains, Missouri; a daughter, Sharon Pohlman and Doug Lensing of Rhineland; a daughter, Donna Watson and husband John of Waterloo, Illinois; a brother, Gerald Korman and wife Mary of Big Spring; a sister, Elaine Horton and husband Joe of Big Spring; three sisters-in-law, Karol Korman of Florissant, Dolores Lenger of Chesterfield, and Theoda Pohlman of Hermann; her grandchildren, Matt and Emily Watson, Laura, Monica and Desiree Dixon, Beth and Lisa Pohlman, Eric Shockley, and Andrea and Alicia Lensing, and by her great-grandchildren, Harper Watson, Ellery Adamski, Grant, Brock and Dane Shockley. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and by three brothers, William Korman, E.J. (Zeke) Korman and Dennis Korman. Visitation will be Friday, January 2, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held at Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, Missouri at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, with Father Bill Debo officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Rhineland, Missouri. Memorials may be given to Rhineland Fire Department or St. Joseph Cemetery. C/O Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home.
