Edgar Charles Frank, age 90, of Linn, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014, at Linn Community Skilled Care. He was born on December 6, 1924, in Jefferson City, to the late Louis and Margaret (Henke) Frank. Edgar served in the United States Army during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and was honorably discharged on November 8, 1946. Edgar was united in marriage to Mary Jane Bax on September 25, 1948, at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Folk. She survives of the home in Linn. His gift of gab made him a successful salesman, but his boyhood was spent on the farm and his love of the land made his return to farming inevitable. In 1960, he began his 25 years of service with the United States Post Office. After his retirement in May 1985, he began his campaign for Osage County Presiding Commissioner and was elected on November 4, 1986. He also owned and operated Osage Steel Building Systems. Edgar was a member of the St. George Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #4838 Honorary Life Member, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving as Commander of Post #4756 in Linn from 1976-1977. Edgar enjoyed spending time with his family, and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He took great pride in his lawn and garden, his cattle, and his New Holland cab tractor. Nearly every Saturday night was spent dancing with his sweetheart, Mary Jane. He was known to love his highballs and was an expert joke teller. In addition to his wife of 66 years, Edgar is survived by: one son, Ronnie (Margie) Frank of Linn; two daughters, Judy (Ed) Robinson of Linn, and Shelly (Tim) Stumbaugh of Holts Summit; nine grandchildren, Tammy (Boone) Tyree, Kim (Kevin) Cox, Travis Frank, Troy (Kelly) Frank, all of Linn, Brandy (DeWayne) Prenger of Wardsville, Skyler, Trevor, Trey and Seth Stumbaugh of Holts Summit; 11 great-grandchildren, Courtney, Dillon and Olivia Dingley, Nash Tyree, Karlee and Kamryn Cox, Sam, Carson and Isabella Prenger, Maya Frank, and Adalynn Skye Moore; one sister-in-law, Mary Frank; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one sister, Agnes Marie Frank; three brothers, Norbert, Elmer and Bill Frank; four sisters-in-law, Agnes and JoAnn Frank, Hilda Libbert and Irene Bax; and two brothers-in-law, Andrew "Pat" Libbert and Herbert Bax. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. I.C. Medina and Fr. John Schmitz as concelebrants.
