Arthur Glenn Schobey

Arthur "Art" Glenn Schobey, 70, of Holts Summit, Missouri, went to be with his Lord, Monday, September 16, 2013, at his home. He was born February 4, 1943, in Jamestown, New York, the son of the late Francis and Dorothy (Hitchcock) Schobey. On July 27, 1990, he married Betty (Stenger) Schobey, who survives at their home. Art retired from the State of Missouri in 2009 and began working another career as a chauffeur for Heisinger/St. Joseph's Bluffs in Jefferson City. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Art loved to fish, hunt, shoot and make people laugh. His motto was live, laugh and love. He lived his life to the fullest; he made everyone laugh and he loved and was very much loved in return. Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Arthur Glenn Schobey Jr. of New Mexico, Julie Schobey of New Mexico, David Schobey (Kristen) of Bonne Terre, Michael Schobey of Holts Summit, and Rebecca Schobey of Eugene, Oregon; one brother: Timothy Schobey (Sharon) of Florida; three sisters: Frances Hunt of Arkansas, Tawnya Fuller (Ornell) of New Mexico, and Becky Reid of New Mexico; 10 grandchildren: Marcus, Candace, Christapher, Justin, Tyler, Kadyn, Alexis, Landon, Kadence and Brielle; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Debbie Goble-Slate, and his grandson: Arthur Glenn Schobey III. Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2013, at St. Joseph's Bluffs, 1306 West Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65109, with a Memorial Service to immediately follow at 10:30 a.m., with Chaplain Jim Mueller officiating.
