Celeste Josephine Laux, 100, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was born on July 24, 1913, in Cole County, the daughter of the late George and Sophia (Cortvrient) Hentges. She was united in marriage on August 24, 1937, in Jefferson City to Victor Henry Laux who preceded her in death on February 25, 1975. A homemaker all her life, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality. Celeste enjoyed to bake pies, embroider, was an avid card player, and loved to play dominoes. Survivors include: six children, Paul (Frances) Laux, Jefferson City, Mary (Alban) Dorge, Osage Beach, John (Mary) Laux, Gerald, James Laux (his friend Gloria Abbott), Jefferson City, Vincent Laux, Jefferson City, Joe Laux, Jefferson City; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Vaughan, Jefferson City; one brother, Paul Hentges, Jefferson City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Agnes Mertens and Angeline Frank; a brother, John Hentges; and two daughters-in-law, Linda Laux and Debbie Laux. The family would like to thank SSM Hospice for the care and support provided to Celeste and her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, September 13, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Anthony Rinaldo officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
