Ora Mae Barron

Ora Mae Barron, 92, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, October 26, 2013, at St. Joseph's Bluffs. She was born April 20, 1921, in Monroe, Michigan, the daughter of Otis Irving and Agnus Amelia (Smith) Dewey. She was a 1939 graduate of Sandusky High School in Sandusky, Ohio. On February 27, 1945, Ora was united in marriage in Napoleon, Ohio, to Robert S. Barron, who survives at their home. She was employed with International Shoe Factory from 1945 to 1952 and with Chesebrough Ponds from 1952 until her retirement in 1987. Ora enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and taking care of her grandchildren. In addition to her husband of over 68 years, Robert, she is survived by one son, Bobby Barron of Winfield, Kansas; one daughter, Jeannie Barron Shaw and husband Rob of Overland Park, Kansas; three grandchildren: Sarah Barron of Wichita, Kansas, Jordan Shaw of San Francisco, California, Riley Shaw of Kansas City, Missouri; and one great-granddaughter, Ashley Barron of Wichita, Kansas. Friends will be received from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Jim Mueller officiating.
