Leonard V. Hicks Sr.

Leonard V. Hicks Sr., age 87, of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at his home. Leonard was born April 29, 1926, in Grand Pass, the son of Lloyd and Gladys (McKee) Hicks. He was a naval veteran of World War II. Leonard loved camping, gardening, fishing, and playing cards and dominos. He was a member of the local Carpenter's Union. Survivors include his daughter, Ginny Sampson and her husband, Keith of Jefferson City; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; as well as a half-sister, Delores Hicks of Marshall. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine; his son, Leonard Vernon Hicks Jr.; his daughter, Cynthia Lynn Stirts; his parents and three brothers. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Twin Lakes Hospice and can be left in care of the funeral home.
