Bert Joseph Pinnell

Bert Joseph Pinnell, 59, of Westphalia, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at University of Missouri Hospital Columbia. He was born July 18, 1953, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Clarence Emerson and Caroline Delphine (Nilges) Pinnell. Bert attended Fatima High School where he graduated in 1972. He was employed as a yard supervisor at DeLong's for over 38 years. He was a member of the Westphalia Lions Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Bert enjoyed hunting, tractors and sports especially the St. Louis Cardinals and the NFL. Most of all he loved animals especially his dog "Buddy". Survivors include two sisters: Jane Oliver (Leroy) of Westphalia and Alice Eicholz (Norman) of Bonnots Mill; two brothers: James "Moose" Massen of Freeburg and Tim Pinnell (Jean) of Taos and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, at the Hilke-Millard Funeral Home with a prayer service to be held at 3:30 p.m. with Fr. Mark Smith officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church Westphalia with Fr. Phil Niekamp officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St Joseph Catholic School.
