Mr. William Otto Fischer, age 74 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013, at his home. Bill was born on September 8, 1938, in Jefferson City, Mo., and was raised by his father and step-mother, Otto T. and Dorothy Fischer. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Bill graduated from Jefferson City High School. He was employed as an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Number 257 for over 25 years until his retirement. He was extremely proud of his involvement with the Local 257 and worked on many projects in our area, including the Callaway Nuclear Plant and Thomas Hill Nuclear Plant. Bill enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He always had a good story to tell when people were around. Survivors include: one son, Jerry Fischer and his wife Rose of Wellsville, Mo.; one sister, Arlene Carey of Jefferson City, Mo.; two step-sisters, Sally Stockman and Sarah Franklin, both of Jefferson City, Mo.; one step-brother, George Fischer of Jefferson City, Mo.; two grandchildren, Brittney Fischer and Cody Fischer; and five step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Amy Fischer; and one son, Billy Fischer. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 29, 2013. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013, in the Freeman Chapel with Reverend Keith Vessell officiating. Graveside service and interment with military honors will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Honey Creek, Mo.
