Kyo Sook Gorman

Kyo Sook (Helen) Gorman, age 75, of Kansas City, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013. Kyo was born November 7, 1937, in Japan. She had lived in Kansas City since 1997 and previously lived in St. Martins, Mo. and in Waterloo, Iowa. She loved her grandchildren, traveling and was an excellent cook. She was a member of the Korean Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Michael Gorman Sr. of the home; children, Rose (Matt) Beck, Jefferson City, Mo., Anthony Gorman, Rocky Mount, Mo., Christy (Mark) Schaberg, Wellington, Mo., Karen (Randy) Bisig, Jefferson City, Mo., and Michael (Joan) Gorman Jr., Kansas City, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Kullen and Lorraine Gorman; brothers-in-law, John Gorman and Don Colgan; 13 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her two sisters preceded her in death. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 14, at the Korean Catholic Church, 9130 Pflumm, Lenexa, Kan. Friends may call from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the church. There will be a celebration of life held in Jefferson City at a later date. Contributions are suggested to the Korean Catholic Church, St. Martins Catholic Church or a charity of choice.
