Mr. Elmer C. Bryan, age 99 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Monday, January 7, 2013, at Castleparke Assisted Living. Elmer was born on March 2, 1913, in Mendota, Ill. He was married to Alice Bryan on May 26, 1940. She preceded him in death on February 24, 1999. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, four brothers, and one son, Edward Bryan. A resident of Galesburg, Ill. for the majority of his life, Elmer was employed with the Galesburg Illinois Public Schools for 15 years until his retirement in 1976. He later moved to Jefferson City to be closer to his daughter and enjoyed volunteering with the Meals on Wheels program. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Jefferson City, Mo. Survivors include: one daughter, Ann Holland of Jefferson City, Mo.; two grandchildren, Brad Dawson of Illinois and Roger Winsauer of Arkansas; six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the Wesley United Methodist Church with the Reverend Tom Vansant officiating. Visitation will immediately follow the service. Private graveside services and entombment will be held at White Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Meals on Wheels program, c/o Clark Senior Center, P. O. Box 104718, Jefferson City, MO 65110.
