Nancy Sullivan Shoop

Nancy Sullivan Shoop, age 64, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013. Nancy was born in New Haven, Conn. on June 1, 1949, daughter of the late Thomas Joseph Sullivan and Rita Fenwick Sullivan. Nancy graduated from Guilford (Conn.) High School where she was a long-time member of the GHS cheerleading squad with many of her close friends. She moved to Missouri in 1969 and lived there until her death. Nancy was an avid scuba diver earlier in her life and made dives all over the world. She graduated from the University of Missouri and then taught at Lincoln University before working for the State of Missouri. She was the loving "mom" to French Bulldogs: Biz, Brighton, Millie, and Lambchop, as well as Shar Pei Pleatswoman. She was the beloved partner and soul mate of Bill Herholzer; beloved sister of Thomas Sullivan and his wife Diane of Rio Rancho, N.M.; and Wendy Wright and her husband Bill of Overton, Texas; and stepmother to Laura Dickson of Kansas City, Mo. She is also survived by nephews and nieces: Joshua Lutz of Osage Beach, Mo., Stephanie Lutz of Tipton, Mo., Rachel Harned Miranda of Jefferson City, Mo., Devin Sullivan of Phoenix; Shannon Claussen of N. Scituate, R.I., and Dustin Arnold of Longview, Texas. She was preceded in death by her loving son, Travis Lutz, and her husband, John Dickson. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nancy can be made to the French Bulldog Rescue Network, P.O. Box 4764, Glen Allen, VA 23058-4764 Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home at 1270 S. Highway 5, Camdenton, MO 65020. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 31, 2013, from 12:00-12:45 p.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Services will be at 12:45 p.m. with friends sharing memories.
