Louis Maring "Ming" Lohman, 92, of Columbia, Mo., passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013. Ming was born July 10, 1921, in Jefferson City, Mo. to Ira H. Lohman and Ida May Maring. He was married to Mary Marguerite Kirk Lohman on June 1, 1950, in Dexter, Mo. Ming and Marguerite enjoyed 60 years of marriage and had four children together. Ming took care of his wife for many years until her passing in 2010. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and canoe trips. He had a love for farming and raising cattle. He loved his family and friends dearly and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his four children, Kirk (Pat) Lohman of LaCrosse, Wis., Lee (Amy) Lohman of Terre Haute, Ind., Mary Lou (Tom) Dworak of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Ann (Dennis) Toellner of Columbia, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; five great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite; his parents, Ira H. and Ida May; three siblings, Ira H. (Louis) Lohman Jr., Marg (Walter) Helmreich, Ida May (Comer) Bates, and his wife's sister and spouses, Ann (Ernie) McElrath and Dottie (John) Majors. Visitation will be held from 10-11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will commence at 11:00 a.m. Burial immediately following in Memorial Park Cemetery.
