Loretta Arlone Gallatin

Loretta Arlone Gallatin, 89, of Fulton, passed away on August 20, 2013, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City. She was born April 9, 1924, in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of the late Charley Coy Courtney and the late Mattie Arlone (Ingle) Courtney. On January 24, 1942, Loretta was united in marriage to Joe E. Gallatin, who preceded her in death on February 29, 2004. Loretta attended Onawa Schools in Iowa. She was a member of the Carrington Baptist Church and a charter member of the Retirees Club of I.B.E.W. Local 257. She loved her family and enjoyed being a homemaker. Loretta will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons, Joe E. Gallatin Jr. of Fulton, and Mark Lee Gallatin and wife Cynthia of Hartsburg; four grandchildren, Joseph Lee Gallatin of Jefferson City, Lisa Michelle Vitt of Moberly, Natalie Grace Gallatin of Hartsburg, and Kaitlin Nicole Gallatin of Hartsburg; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Lukas Vitt of Moberly, and Taylor Gallatin of Moberly; two step-grandchildren, Lori Vetter and Jerry Knight Jr. of Scott City; and two sisters, LaVonne Vander Hamm of Ireton, Iowa, and Lottie B. Pierce of Onawa, Iowa; and one sister-in-law, Norma Courtney of Onawa, Iowa. In addition to her husband and her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Courtney; and two daughter-in-laws, Barbara Kay Gallatin and Sandra Kay Gallatin. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday August 23, 2013, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to the time of service also at Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton.
