Roger J. Lueckenhoff

Roger J. Lueckenhoff, age 85, of Rolla, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013, at the Missouri Veteran's Home in St. James, Mo. He was born in St. Thomas, Mo. on February 29, 1928, to the late Frank and Frances (Sommerhauser) Lueckenhoff. On February 5, 1953, he married Lorene Christine Loethen who preceded him in death on October 3, 2003. Roger was a graduate of St. Vincent High School in Perryville, Mo. and attended Washington University in St. Louis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Army Infantry during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1952. He was employed by the Rawlings Sporting Goods Co. for 40 years serving as an Industrial Engineer and Director of Quality Control. He was a longtime member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, VFW, American Legion, and Korean War Veterans Association. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Guignon and two brothers, Harry and Gerald Lueckenhoff. Mr. Lueckenhoff will be greatly missed by his surviving family which include three children, Michael Lueckenhoff and wife Kelly, of Colleyville, Texas, Kenneth Lueckenhoff and wife Prissy, of Spring, Texas, and Dianne Lueckenhoff, of Houston, Texas; one sister, Marilyn Wintz, of Gladstone, Mo.; five grandchildren, Brian Lueckenhoff, Kevin Lueckenhoff, Sarah Harris, Laura Lueckenhoff, and Dana Lueckenhoff; one great- grandchild, Hadley Harris; nieces, nephews, other extended family members and many dear friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rolla. Interment with full military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the St. Thomas Cemetery in St. Thomas, Mo. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla on Wednesday, August 14, beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Rosary service at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Assistance League at the Mo. Veteran's Home in St. James or St. Patrick Catholic Church.
