Vivian Wallace

Vivian Wallace (nee Fawcett), 98, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, September 21, 2012, in Brookfield, Wis. She was born and raised in Marion, Ill. Vivian graduated with a major in music from Southern Illinois University and taught school in Marion for several years. Vivian married her childhood sweetheart, the late Dr. John K. Wallace II, following his return from military service in 1945. Vivian was a proud Army wife of 22 years. After completing a highly successful career in the U.S. Army, Dr. and Mrs. Wallace settled in Jefferson City, Mo. Vivian was an avid cook, bridge player, musician and world traveler. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Vivian is survived by her sons, COL John K. Wallace III (U.S. Army Ret.) (Carol) and Dr. James R. Wallace, M.D. (Michele); grandchildren, John (Danielle), Megan and Robert and great-grandchildren, Iain and William. Services will be held at a later date. Vivian will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children, 201 South Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131.
