Marvin R. Cox, 61, of Russellville, passed away Saturday September 22, 2012, at his residence in Russellville. On May 14, 1951, he was born in McCrory, Ark., the son of the late Kenneth Oliver and Melvina (Jenkins) Cox. On July 30, 2003, in Harrisburg, Ark., he was united in marriage to Naomi Jane (Norfleet) Cox, who survives of the home. Marvin served in the United States Army in Germany. He loved hunting, fishing, watching westerns and working on his cars and mostly spending time with his family. He retired in April from Modine Manufacturing in Jefferson City after 23 years of service. Other survivors include: children, Craig Cox of Oak Grove and Christie Wood and husband David of Oak Grove; step- children, Richard Cotten and wife Cheryl of Eldon, Russell Cotten and wife Jackie of Russellville, Ross Cotten of Eldon, Jonathan Cotten and wife Renee of Eldon, and Julie Koenigsfield of Jefferson City; 21 grandchildren; sisters, Lilly Rogers of Oak Grove, and Nancy Jarmillo and husband Kris of the state of Texas; brothers, Dean Cox and wife Judy of Fulton, and Odell Cox and wife Debbie of Olean. His parents and one brother, Walter Cox, preceded him in death. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. William Douglas officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Garden Cemetery near Eugene will full military honors provided by Eldon VFW Post #2442. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in care of the family.
