Lawrence Lueckenhoff

Lawrence Lueckenhoff, age 91, of Albuquerque, N.M., passed away Friday, September 14, 2012. Larry was born March 10, 1921, to Henry and Tillie Plasmeyer Lueckenhoff. He served with honor in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in England during World War II. Larry wed Edna Leuthen on Oct. 18, 1944. They moved to Albuquerque in 1954. Larry worked as a manager for Montgomery Wards until his retirement. They then built a home with their sons, Bert and Dan at Navajo Dam. Larry was a very active member in St. Rose Catholic Church and helped to build their new church. He was an exceptional fisherman and avid pinochle player. After his wife Edna's death in 2008, Larry moved back to Albuquerque. He is survived by his sons, Bert and Dan Lueckenhoff and daughters, Carol Marinsek and Jane Starr. He also leaves behind sisters, Laurentia Hamacher and Norma Shorter of Jefferson City, Missouri and sister-in-law, Pauline Whitten of Eldon, Missouri. Larry had been blessed with eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 21, at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in New Mexico. Burial to follow service at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
