Joyce L. Henderson

Mrs. Joyce L. Henderson, age 69 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, September 9, 2012, at the Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Joyce was born October 19, 1942, in Hallsville, Mo., the daughter of Ben and Leona Wyatt Arnold. She was married on October 19, 1952, in Ashland, Mo. to Larry T. Henderson who preceded her in death on February 7, 2010. A life-long resident of the Jefferson City area, she attended school at Pilot Grove, Mo. Joyce was employed in Food Services at Memorial Community Hospital for 35 years until her retirement in December, 2000. She was also an Avon representative for 43 years. She enjoyed sewing and reading, but most importantly, spending time with family and friends. Joyce was also known for her famous fudge. Survivors include: one daughter, Susan K. Henderson and her companion Dan Thompson of Holts Summit, Mo.; four brothers, Harvey Arnold and his wife Jen of Kankakee, Illinois, Robert Arnold and his wife Jennie of Bunceton, Mo., Jerry Arnold and his wife Carolyn of Mt. Victory, Ohio, and Donnie Arnold and his wife Sharon of New Albany, Ohio; one sister, Judy Parkhurst and her husband Steve of Booneville, Mo.; and two special friends, Diana Cooper and Ruth Sheldon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Joann Arnold and one sister, Lorene Wedge. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Jeryl Bennett officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
