James William Davis, 61, of Osage County, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at his home. He was born January 11, 1951, in Crocker, Missouri, a son of the late David Lee and Eva Grace (Sanders) Davis. He attended Crocker High School in Crocker, Missouri. James was united in marriage to Stephanie Kettler, who survives at their home. James was a Corrections Officer for the Missouri Department of Corrections for 14 years. He was also a Custodian at Fatima High School in Westphalia, and worked in housekeeping for Jefferson City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson City. James enjoyed watching T.V., listening to music, working in the yard, cleaning his vehicles, and spending time with his family and his parrots: Henry, Pee Wee, and Dee Dee. Along with his wife Stephanie, James is also survived by two step-sons: Don Licklider (wife Tracy) of Sullivan, Mo.; William Franklin of Moberly, Mo.; two sisters: Shirley McCann (husband John) of Springfield, Mo.; Mary Strong (husband Jerry) of St. Roberts, Mo.; and one brother: Daniel Davis (wife Kim) of Eldon, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three siblings: Bonnie Davis, Robert Davis and Norma Holloway. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Family Home, 690 County Road 501; Jefferson City, MO 65101 (near Westphalia, in Osage County).
