Mildred Rogers

Mrs. Mildred Elizabeth Rogers, age 61 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, May 7, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center. Liz was born May 30, 1950, in Newport, Rhode Island, the daughter of Vernon E. and Mildred M. Sawyer Williamson. She was married on July 1, 1972, in San Diego, California to John A. Rogers. Liz graduated from California Western University in San Diego, California with a degree in sociology. She was employed as a retail buyer in the clothing industry. Liz was very active in fundraising for the Pediatric AIDS Foundation. In recent years, she was actively involved with developing a center for brain injury services, with her daughter, Renetta. She has been a resident of the Jefferson City area for the past three years. Survivors include: her husband, John A. Rogers; one daughter, Renetta Rogers Richard and her husband Nathan of Jefferson City, Mo.; her father, Vernon E. Williamson of San Diego, California; one sister, Mary Renetta Williamson Coe and her husband Thurston of San Diego, California; one half-brother, Rick Raum of Palms Springs, California; and one grandson, Derrick Richard. She was preceded in death by her mother. Visitation will be in the Chapel of St. Joseph Bluffs from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, in the Chapel of St. Joseph Bluffs with Chaplain Jim Mueller officiating.
