James Edward Hogg, 58, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at the University of Missouri Hospital & Clinics in Columbia. He was born March 23, 1954, in Jefferson City, a son of the late Roy B. and Doris M. (Gibson) Hogg. He was a 1972 graduate of Jefferson City High School, and went on to attend Central Missouri State University. Jim earned his Bachelor's degree in 1980 from Lincoln University in Jefferson City. On March 27, 1976, Jim was united in marriage in Jefferson City, to Cynthia A. "Cindy" Johnson, who survives at their home. Jim worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections - Division of Probation and Parole for the past 32 years and was set to retire later this year. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Association of Paroling Authorities International. Jim enjoyed fishing, playing golf, playing poker and playing on the computer. The thing that he enjoyed most though, was his family and friends. Along with his wife Cindy, Jim is also survived by two sons: Eric Hogg and Evan Hogg, both of Jefferson City; one brother: Stephen P. Hogg (wife Barbara J.) of Springfield, Illinois; and a granddaughter: Layf Hogg of Jefferson City. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Dr. Jim Hill officiating. Entombment will follow in the Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
