K. Adele Leffert

K. Adele (Wood) Leffert, 87, Jefferson City, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Capital Regional Medical Center, Jefferson City, Missouri. She was born January 23, 1925 to Richard Thomas and Kathryn Xantippi (Harper) Wood in Whiting, Kansas. She married Donald E. Leffert on December 1, 1945. He preceded her in death in December of 2007. Adele was a homemaker but also worked for 14 years at Thompson, Brumm, Kevepper in medical records. She also worked as a writer for Young at Heart for 35 years at the Newspress. Mrs. Leffert was a past 40 year member of Savannah Avenue Baptist Church, First Baptist Church in St. Joseph and Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jefferson City. She also participated in the Womenís Missionary Union and the church choir and was a Sunday School teacher. Survivors include: her daughter, Sally Streeter (Bob); son-in-law, Craig Beeman; one grandson; four granddaughters; and five great-grandsons. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Janice ìJanî Beeman; sister-in-law, Ruby; two brothers, Richard and Walter and brother-in-law, Delbert Leffert. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Whiting, Kansas.
