Bernard Fitzpatrick (Veteran)

Bernard Thomas Fitzpatrick, 86, of Koeltztown, departed this life Monday, November 28, 2011, in the Maries Manor Health Care Center, Vienna. He was born on October 5, 1925, at Argyle, a son of Thomas and Bertha (Lock) Fitzpatrick. Mr. Fitzpatrick was united in marriage on October 27, 1951, at Koeltztown, to the former Miss Mary Ann Lock, and to this union, four children were born. Mr. Fitzpatrick was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown. He was a World War II United States Army Veteran, a member of the Argyle Knights of Columbus, and the Veterans of Foreign Post Number 8045, Argyle. Mr. Fitzpatrick first worked as a teenager both as a laborer and a truck driver at the MFA Farmers Elevator Company, Argyle, where his father was manager and later became manager himself in January of 1965, retiring after 45 years on October 31, 1987. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Fitzpatrick include: His wife, Mary Ann Fitzpatrick of the home near Koeltztown; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dewayne C. and Barbara Fitzpatrick, Osage Beach; Craig J. and Kay Fitzpatrick, Jefferson City; and Roger S. and Debbie Fitzpatrick, Eldon; one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly B. and Ernie Otto, Brinktown; one brother, Ray Fitzpatrick, of California; three sisters, Helen Schulte of Florida; Bernadine Schulte, St. Louis; and Josephine Luebbert, Rolla; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Kyle Fitzpatrick; and two brothers, Charlie Fitzpatrick and Ray Fitzpatrick. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mr. Fitzpatrick at 11:00 a.m., Thursday morning, December 1, 2011, at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown, with the Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewicz officiating. Interment will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery, Koeltztown, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2011, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary Service and Visitation from 10 - 11 a.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011, all at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown.
