Charles Wolfe

Charles "Charlie" O. Wolfe, age 90, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at his residence. Charlie was born January 27, 1920 in Aud, a son to the late John Albert and Maudie (Bauchman) Wolfe. On April 5, 1945, he was united in marriage to Irene Mildred (Miller) Wolfe in Linn. She preceded him in death on November 25, 1993. Charlie was a farmer and was baptized at the Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church in Chamois. Charlie was a member of the Laborers Local 662 for 35 years. He enjoyed farming and taking care of his cattle. Charlie is survived by: five sons, Milton and his wife Robin Wolfe of Holts Summit, Bert and his wife Lydia Wolfe of Centertown, Charles Wolfe Jr. and his wife Marilyn, Alvin Wolfe and Melvin Wolfe, all of Jefferson City; six daughters, Mary McGinnis and her husband Charles of California, Mildred Scheppers and her husband Bernard of Centertown, Betty Wolfe, Penny Mahan and Martha Sue Love, all of Jefferson City, and Helen Clark of Russellville; two sisters, Melinda Thuli of Chamois and Julia Callias of Centertown; 21 grandchildren, 34 great- grandchildren, 16 step-great- grandchildren and 3 great- great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by: two sons, Elmer and Delmar Wolfe; two brothers, Thomas and George Wolfe; three sisters, Dora Walling, Josie Groom and Laura Jarvis; and two grandsons. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2010, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Morton Chapel. Interment will follow in the Ferguson Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association or the Ferguson Cemetery.
