Paul Vernon Shaw, 59, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at the Boone Hospital Center. He was born on February 1, 1951 in Kansas City, a son of the late Oliver M. and Lenora Anne Bramall Shaw. On November 28, 1987, Paul was united in marriage to Jody Lyne Wood, who survives at the home. Paul was a 1969 graduate of Jefferson City High School and a 1975 graduate from Lincoln University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Paul was currently employed with Fed Ex and Scholastics. He had previously been employed with the Paul Allen Detective Agency, Maytag, Memorial Community Hospital and owned his own construction company. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Paul enjoyed traveling, auctions, playing softball, amateur photography, loved watching baseball and football, coin collecting and spending time with family and friends. He is also survived by one daughter: Emily Daniele McGee and her husband Vince of Jefferson City; one granddaughter: Harley McGee of Jefferson City; one brother: John Oliver Shaw of Chillicothe; father and mother-in-law: Kenny and Karren Wood; brother and sister-in-laws: Dewayne and Marleen Wood, Jack and Chanda Wood and Harold and Tammy Hawk; and cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be at the Church of Christ in Eldon from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2010, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., with Dan Wissinger and Richard Miller officiating. Interment will follow at the Eldon City Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, Shriners, or the Business 54 Church of Christ.
