Guy Cleveland (Veteran)

Guy J. Cleveland, 83, of New Bloomfield, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born June 11, 1927, in Lake Crystal, Minnesota, a son of Chauncey Guy and Velma Enfield Cleveland, both deceased. He was a 1945 graduate of Madelia High School in Madelia, Minnesota. On May 25, 1986, in Taos, Guy was united in marriage to Maxelinda (Talken) Reinkemeyer, who survives at their home. Guy served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Golden Sun Feeds in Grinnell, Iowa where he was the plant superintendent. Guy was a member of the Taos Knights of Columbus Council #6430 and American Legion Roscoe Enloe Post 5 in Jefferson City. Other survivors include his five children: Ben Cleveland and wife Carolyn of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Kenton Cleveland and wife Rhonda of Wichita, Kansas, Dan Cleveland of St. Paul, Minnesota, Ann Cleveland of Coralville, Iowa and Jean Graham and husband Arlen of Sedgewickville; seven step-children: Glen Reinkemeyer and wife Julie of Wardsville, Mark Reinkemeyer and wife Angie of Taos, Dale Reinkemeyer and wife Jodi of Taos, Ross Reinkemeyer and wife Robin of Taos, Brenda Tighe and husband Robert of New Bloomfield, Mary Beth Doerr of Holts Summit, Dana Baker and husband Tom of Loose Creek; one step-daughter-in-law, Pat Reinkemeyer of Centertown; one brother, Marvin Cleveland and wife Sharon of Roseville, Minnesota; one sister, Marjorie Fisher of Whitefish, Montana; 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one stepson, Alan Reinkemeyer on April 1, 2010, one step-grandchild, Anthony Reinkemeyer, and one step- great-grandchild, Parker Long. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos. Interment with full military honors will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Samaritan Center.
