Anna Marie Lackman, 65, of Westphalia, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at her home. She was born December 6, 1944, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Edwin and Veronica Schnieders Toebben, both deceased. On June 6, 1964, Anna was united in marriage in Taos to David Lackman Sr. who survives at their home. She was a homemaker and daycare provider for many years, and was employed at Scholastics until her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, the Rosary Club, Westphalia Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, St. Jude's General Assembly, the Western Catholic Union and was active with the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Her faith in God was an inspiration to many. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. If someone was in need she was there, putting everyone else first. She is our Angel of God. She is also survived by four children: Darin (Kate) Lackman of Jefferson City, Becky (Greg) Bowman of Jefferson City, Darla (Kurt) Klebba of Jefferson City, David (Darla) Lackman Jr. of Westphalia; 13 brothers and sisters: Alvin (LaVern) Toebben of St. Martins, Lorene (Roman) Brandt of Taos, Albert (Doris) Toebben of Wardsville, Mary Jane (Leo) Schaefer of Westphalia, Louis (Delphine) Toebben of Taos, Agnes (Jerry) Schwartz of Westphalia, Jerry (Shirley) Toebben of Taos, Eddie (Sherry) Toebben of Loose Creek, Harvey (Peggy) Toebben of Jefferson City, Judy (John) Wieberg of Freeburg, Darlene (Greg) Russell of St. Thomas, Debbie (Russell) Peters of Linn, Vickie (Gerald) Holtmeyer of Bonnots Mill; nine grandchildren: Shae Lackman, Brad Bowman, Bryan Bowman, Shelby Vessell, Kayla Vessell, Jacob Klebba, Carson Klebba, Megan Lackman, Bradley Lackman; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Toebben. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Westphalia. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with Fr. Mark S. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
