Dexter Ray Adams

Dexter Ray Adams, 53, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at his residence. He was born on April 10, 1957, in Independence, Kansas, a son of Lloyd James and Twylia Adams. He cared very deeply about people and spent much of life in nursing and serving others. Most recently, he worked for the State of Missouri, overseeing distribution of the flu vaccines throughout the state. He was devout in his beliefs of Jesus as the Risen Son of God, desiring to be a missionary in Africa. He attended the First Church of God. He is survived by his mother: Twylia Adams Dubois of Frisco, Texas; two children: Aaron Andrew Adams and Amber Ann Adams, both of Troy; and four siblings: Carol Carr of Frisco, Texas, Jerry Adams of Creve Coeur, Polly Leffler of Nixa and Peggy Adams of Plano, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father and his eldest brother: James Allen Adams. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2010, at the First Church of God, 1614 Southwest Boulevard. Private family interment will be held at later date.
