Larry Wayne Sauer

Larry Wayne Sauer, 77, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at his home. He was born May 8, 1944, in Jefferson City, a son of the late Carl and Rosalyn (Propst) Sauer. He was a 1962 graduate of Russellville High School. For many years he was the owner/operator of S&S Excavating and his own contracting company. He also farmed and raised cattle. Larry enjoyed restoring old tractors and had a herd of barn cats that was larger in number than his cows. He was a fantastic dad and grandpa. Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Larry is survived by his wife, Betty Sauer; children, Terry Sauer (Diane Crider), Tina Sauer and Theresa Bray (Chris); brother, David Sauer (Olive); step-children, Belinda Ponder, Deborah Ledbetter, Larry and Kevin Grace; grandchildren, Nathan Sauer, Shanae Crider, Garret Bialczyk, Tyler Sauer, Hunter Denich, Trey Bray, Harley Bialczyk and Chelsey Bray; numerous great-grandchildren; and nephews, David Dale Sauer (Theresa) and Christopher Sauer (Brie). He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Sauer. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 21, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church Stringtown. Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bryan Whittle officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
