Alice Faye Van Asdale, age 82, of Lake Wales, Florida, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 202, 1 at Winter Haven Hospital. She was born January 24, 1938 in Canton, Ohio to the late Edgar and Mabel Capper. She moved to Lake Wales from Missouri in 2002. Alice was a retired Registered Nurse, she graduated from Lincoln High School in Canton, Ohio and King's Daughter Nursing School in Ashland, Kentucky. Alice was a member of the Church of God in Winter Haven and a former Board Member of (PEO) Philanthropic Educational Organization who supported Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri. She adored working with kids and was a former foster parent with her husband. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Gaylord "Gayl" Van Asdale; daughters, Laura Souden and husband Rob of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Shelly Van Asdale and husband Joe Brandon of Anderson, Indiana; sons, Robert "Bob" M. Van Asdale and wife Sheila of Spring Hill, Florida, Jeffrey B. Van Asdale and wife Debbie of Wichita, Kansas, and Shawn M. Van Asdale and wife Lena of Reno, Nevada; brother, Clyde "Dick" Capper of Canton, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Alice was preceded in death by her sister, Carole Anne Capper. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the First Church of God in Winter Haven.
