Blanche Anne Davies Gue, 83, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away peacefully after a prolonged battle with Alzheimers on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Heisinger Bluffs Lutheran Senior Services. Anne was born August 23, 1937, in Falls Mills, Virginia, the eldest daughter of the late Frederick Arthur Davies and Ruby Mae Compton Davies. Anne Davies was united in marriage to Dr. Charles Sylvester Gue Jr., July 18, 1959, in Macon, Georgia. Anne was a 1955 graduate of Boca Ciega High School in St. Petersburg, Florida. After attending James Madison University (formerly Madison College) in Harrisonburg, Virginia, for two years, she transferred to the University of Georgia in Athens to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education in 1959. It was at the University of Georgia that Anne met the love of her life, Charlie, a veterinary student, on a blind date. They fell in love at first sight. Upon graduation, Anne was immediately employed as a faculty member with the University of Georgia as an Assistant instructor with the UGA's Department of Physical Education, while Charlie completed his final year of veterinary school at the University of Georgia. After a joyful marriage in Macon, Georgia, in 1959, they began their very happy life together. Once Anne's new husband, Charlie, graduated with highest honors from the School of Veterinary Medicine at UGA in 1960, Anne and Charlie began their young professional and family journey. They left Georgia, moving to Eldersburg, Maryland in 1959; then Warrenton, Virginia in 1961; St. Paul, Minnesota in 1964; Jefferson City, Missouri, 1967; Russellville, Missouri in 1974, (after buying a farm there in 1972) and finally back to Jefferson City in 1988. With each move, a new Gue baby was born; Chuck in Baltimore, Beth in Warrenton, Catherine in St. Paul, Suzanne in Jefferson City, and Jack in Russellville. After raising a very large and beautiful family, Anne later earned a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1992 pursuing her great passion as a professional genealogist and archivist. Despite her extensive education, Anne's greatest joy in life was being a devoted, full-time mother at her home who unconditionally loved, cherished and took great pride in her five children. After the children were grown, Anne began volunteering at the Cole County Historical Society in Jefferson City, Missouri as an archivist helping to preserve historical records and documents, and for many years worked as a genealogist assisting individuals with genealogical searches by studying families, family history, and tracing family lineages. Anne, affectionately called "Grammie", treasured and doted on her fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She always looked forward to the childrens' long distance visits from Montana, North Dakota, Washington State, Nevada, and New York, as well as locally from St. Louis, Columbia, and Jefferson City, Missouri. "Grammie" absolutely loved making large, homemade dinners at the holidays for her children and grandchildren to gather, with everyone helping to cook and taste, sitting, talking, and giggling always until the early hours of the night. These special gatherings became a Gue family tradition. She also enjoyed the annual "Compton Family Reunion" in Falls Mills, Virginia near Bluefield where sometimes as many as 75 family members gathered each year at the original Compton family home at the top of the mountain. Anne will always be remembered for her unique beauty and elegant style, her loving smile, soft snuggles, sitting up all night talking, laughing and giggling, sneaking candy and "goodies", singing silly songs, dancing in the kitchen, and always smiling with a positive outlook inspiring her children grandchildren to work hard and follow their dreams. She always put the needs of her children and others above her own. Her infinite love, energy, and joy of daily life was unstoppable. She will be greatly missed that we will not know how to continue our lives without her. Anne's favorite things were, first and foremost, being a full-time and loving mother to her children, and a loving "Grammie" to her grandchildren. She was excited to plan and drive to the beach house in Ocean City, Maryland every summer, as well as enjoying her beautiful flowers and gardening. Her greatest passion was, of course, genealogy and archiving. She always loved her home at 2323 West Main Street in Jefferson City that she fell in love with the very first time she saw it after to moving to Jefferson City, Missouri from Minnesota. She enjoyed decorating her beautiful home. Anne is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dr. Charles Sylvester Gue Jr., and her five extraordinary children; Dr. Charles Sylvester Gue III, and wife, Kristie Anne Kinkead Gue; Pamela Elizabeth Gue Klepner and her husband, Yale Klepner; Dr. Catherine Anne Gue; Suzanne Renee Gue Eitelberg; and John Frederick Gue, and fiancé, Laura Jo Fretwell. "Grammie" is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren: Charles Tanner Gue, and wife, Andrea, Cameron Garrett Gue, and wife, Tazlyn, and Jillian Mackenzie Gue; Aaron Alexander Klepner, and wife Anne, Kyle Ryan Klepner, and wife Emily, Lillian Treann Klepner, and Charles Philip Klepner; Pascale Camille Bouchard, Isabelle Mariah Bouchard, Luke Alexander Bouchard and Giséle Catherine Bouchard ; Skye Forrest Eitelberg and Aidan Rain Eitelberg; the handsome and talented Doc Sylvester Gue as well as her very first great-grandchild, the adorable Charles Robert Gue.
