Donald Victor Cline, 87, of Jefferson City, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. He was born on March 12, 1932, in Aurora, Missouri, the son of the late Paul V. and Georgia (Killey) Cline. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Frances Schrimpf on June 26, 1954, at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Don spent his childhood days through high school in Aurora; then to the University of Missouri, George Washington University, University of Minnesota, and Lincoln University. He attained a Bachelor's degree, Master of Education in Counseling, and a Master of Art's in Social Psychology. He completed a two-year post-graduate training program at the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry and Mental Health Sciences in group and family therapy. He served in the U.S. Air Force and Missouri Army National Guard. He retired in 2002, as Deputy Warden of the Missouri State Penitentiary/Jefferson City Correctional Center. He was the first juvenile officer and director of court services of the 19th Judicial Circuit, Cole County. He previously served as Secretary and Deputy Compact Administrator of the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole, during the Blair administration. He served on the Jefferson City Council from the third ward, was a member and chairman of the Jefferson City Police Personnel Board during three administrations. He was a retired Licensed Professional Counselor and Family Therapist and was active in numerous community organizations. After retirement he was an adjunct professor at Lincoln University. He was a member of the American Legion Post 5. Don is survived by his wife of 65 years: Carolyn Cline; children: David M. Cline, Dana P. Cline and Diana C. Cameron; grandchildren: Christopher and Catherine Cameron. He was preceded in death by his sons: Christopher and Danial Cline. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2020, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. A prayer service will be at 4:15 p.m. prior to visitation. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Corell officiating. Inurnment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy be made to St. Peter Catholic Church.
