Raymond Edward Hader

Raymond Edward Hader 75, of Smithville, Missouri, died on Wednesda, August 5, 2020, at NorthCare Hospice House, North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Raymond was born on October, 12, 1944, in Olean, Missouri to Jesse Harland Hader and Rella Esta Williams Hader. On May 3, 1970, he was married in California, Missouri to Ramona Jo Stewart, who survives at the home. Raymond, a U.S. Army veteran, retired in 2005 as a railroad engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad, in Dalhart, Texas. He started his career working as a fireman for the Rock Island Railroad, in Eldon, Missouri. Raymond passed his strong work ethic as well as his love of reading, music, and lifelong learning to his children. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Smithville. Raymond is survived by his wife Ramona; his daughter Diedra Hader of Houston, Texas; his son Matthew Hader, Matthew's wife Erin Mulvey Hader and their son, Luke Edward Hader of Houston, Texas; and his sister Rosemary Hader Long of Smithville, Missouri. Raymond was preceded in death by his mother and father, Esta and Jesse Hader; and his brothers, Jesse Lee Hader and Robert "Bo" Hader. A small graveside service will be held on August 8, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Evangelical Cemetery of California, Missouri. Due to Covid-19 concerns, the family is kindly requesting that all attendees wear masks during the service. For those who wish, the family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Allen Cemetery, the cemetery where his parents and brothers are buried, or the Moniteau County Historical Society, where Raymond was an active volunteer.
