Missouri Women's Amateur begins today

A pair of area golfers will begin play today in the 91st Missouri Women's Amateur & Mid-Amateur Championship at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg.

Camryn Swinfard of Jefferson City and Barbara Blankenship of Centertown are among the 66 players scheduled to play in the event, scheduled for 54 holes of stroke play.

Swinfard and Blankenship are in the same threesome, along with Janis Clemens of Sedalia, scheduled to tee off at 11:29 a.m. today.

Abby Glynn, from Topeka, Kan., who plays collegiately at Kansas, is the defending champion. Michelle Butler Parrish, the 2019 champion, is also in the field, as well as nine-time winner Ellen Port, who last won the tournament in 2014. Port will be paired with 2017 winner Jess Mink of Columbia and 2018 champion Emily Goldenstein of Chesterfield.

Among in the younger players in the field is the 2020 Class 3 state  champion Kiser Pannier of Sedalia Smith-Cotton.

The tournament, hosted by the Missouri Golf Association, will run through Thursday.
