Swinfard earns all-state honors for Jefferson City

Camryn Swinfard of Jefferson City earned all-state honors Tuesday in the Class 3 girls golf tournament at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club.

Swinfard totaled a 169 to finish in a two-way tie for 12th. Swinfard opened the tournament with an 85, then shot an 84 on Tuesday. Swinfard tied for 18th in the Class 3 state tournament last year.

The top 15 individuals earn all-state honors.

Swinfard is the first state medalist for Jefferson City since Brooke Thompson finished seventh in the Class 2 tournament in 2014.

Capital City had a pair of qualifiers in the Class 3 tournament.

Jaycie Lowery of the Lady Cavaliers finished in a two-way tie for 22nd. Lowery shot an 83 in the opening round, then carded a 95 on Tuesday to finish at 178.

Taylor Hovis finished in a two-way tie for 51st with a 202. Hovis shot a 103 on Monday, then improved to a 99 in the second round. Hovis finished 48th in Class 3 in 2020.

Springfield Catholic dominated the Class 3 team race, finishing with a two-day total of 613 to win the state title by 90 strokes.

Webster Groves was second at 703, one stroke better than Father Tolton. Rolla was fourth at 712.

Springfield Catholic was the Class 2 state champion in 2020 and the Class 1 state champion in 2019.

Reagan Zibilski of Springfield Catholic won the individual state title with a 139. She shot a 66 on Monday, then carded a 73 in Tuesday's second round. It's the second state title for Zibilski, who won the Class 2 crown last year after taking second in Class 1 in both 2018 and 2019.

Zibilski, who played in the 2019 U.S. Women's Open at age 15, has verbally committed to Arkansas.

Springfield Catholic had three other golfers earn all-state honors - Lyla Louderbaugh third at 149, Kyleigh Pfitzner fourth at 154 and Celia Stiltner 14th at 171.

Audrey Rischer of Father Tolton was second at 71-74-145. In 2020, she was second in Class 2 as well behind Zibilski.

Sylvia Moss of New Bloomfield and Lillian Eichelberger of California both earned Class 1 all-state honors at Silo Ridge in Bolivar.

Moss finished 11th at 194. She opened with a 100 on Monday, then shot a 94 on Tuesday.

Eichelberger finished 12th at 198. She shot a 98 in Monday's first round, then totaled a 100 on Tuesday.

Alayna Butts of California finished in a four-way tie for 35th at 210. She opened with 12, then carded a 98 on Tuesday.

Dixie Moss of New Bloomfield finished 55th with a 115-107-222.

Savanna Thessing of New Covenant won the state title, shooting a pair of 86s to finish at 172.

Kathurn Fesler of Villa Duchesne was second at 177. She was part of a balanced effort that led Villa Duchesne to the team title with a total of 754. Villa Duchesne had golfers tie for eighth, finish 10th and tie for 13th to take all-state honors. The team's other qualifier tied for 18th.

New Covenant was second at 799, while Centralia at 811 and East Buchanan at 846 also took home team trophies.

St. Joseph's Academy totaled a 606 to take Class 4 team honors at Rivercut in Springfield.

It is a repeat Class 4 state title and the sixth straight overall for the Angels, who won Class 2 state titles from 2016-19 when there were only two classes in girls state golf.

Liberty North was second at 630, followed by Jackson at 646 and Rock Bridge at 687.

Bailey Burkett of Liberty North was the individual state champion with rounds of 70-73-143. She was fourth in Class 4 last year.
