Prep Baseball: Helias frosh win

MEXICO - The Helias Crusaders won two games Saturday in the Mexico Freshman Tournament.

Helias opened with a 16-0 victory against Hannibal.

Thorn Phillips went the distance to get the win, striking out six in a one-hitter.

Kase Winegar and Zach Wieberg had three hits each. One of Wieberg's hits was a three-run home run. Myles Gresham added two hits.

Helias then bested Mexico 11-1.

Landon King threw a three-hitter in a complete-game effort, striking out four. King also had three hits and scored three runs.

Maddox Alfultus also had three hits for the Crusaders. Winegar added two hits and scored twice while driving in three runs.

The Helias freshman team is now 11-1.
