New Bloomfield takes seventh in Russellville Tournament

RUSSELLVILLE - The New Bloomfield Wildcats lost a pair of games to open the Russellville Tournament on Friday, 10-8 to Union and 10-7 to Pilot Grove.

Lucas Buscher allowed three earned runs in three innings as the starter, allowing seven hits, five walks and striking out one. Trevor Jordan gave up four runs, all unearned, three hits and two walks, with two strikeouts, in three innings of relief.

The Wildcats had 12 hits, as Jordan hit 3-for-4 with three doubles and three runs scored. Buscher drove in three runs and hit 2-for-4.

New Bloomfield led 7-6 through five innings, but committed five errors in the loss as Union scratched across three runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Breycin Dysart took the loss against Pilot Grove, allowing five earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out nine in 4 innings. Michael Saleny threw 1 innings of relief, allowing two earned runs on two hits and two walks while striking out five.

Saleny hit a solo homer and doubled for New Bloomfield, scoring twice. Brendon Carter also doubled and scored twice in the loss.

New Bloomfield (8-9) beat Fayette 12-2 on Saturday morning to take seventh place.
