Jays post wrestling dual victory at Hickman

COLUMBIA - The Jefferson City Jays improved to 5-0 in the Central Missouri Activities Conference with a 58-17 victory Tuesday against the Hickman Kewpies.

Jefferson City, which won seven matches by forfeit, picked up three victories on the mat.

Braden Werdehausen won by a major decision at 120 pounds. At 195, Jakeil Hayes won by a first-period fall at 195, while Isaac Enloe won by a second-period fall at 285.

Winning by forfeit for the Jays were Da'Juan Wallace at 106, Joe Kuster at 138, Trae Hendricks at 152, Clayton Hurley at 160, Will Berendzen at 170, Michael Friederich at 182 and Brant Aulbur at 220.

Jefferson City (27-2 overall) can wrap up the first CMAC title next Tuesday with a win against Rock Bridge at Fleming Fieldhouse.

The Jays will wrestle again Saturday in the CMAC Tournament at Helias.

In Tuesday's JV dual, Jefferson City defeated Hickman 63-6. Cohen Davis at 152 and Brady Connell at 220 both won by fall for the Jays.

In the girls dual Tuesday, the Lady Jays and Kewpies finished in a tie at 18.

Lydia Hudson picked up Jefferson City's lone win on the mat, winning by a second-period fall at 127 pounds. Makayla Wallenmeyer at 112 and Kenzie Moore at 174 both won by forfeit for the Lady Jays.
