Boys Basketball: Capital City 67, Potosi 59

SULLIVAN - The Capital City Cavaliers will play for their second tournament championship in program history after winning 67-59 against the Potosi Trojans in the semifinals of the Sullivan Bank-It Championship.

Capital City's first title came last season in the Tipton Tournament.

The sixth-seeded Cavaliers and the seventh-seeded Trojans were tied at 7 after one quarter, but Capital City won the scoring battle 20-10 in the second quarter to lead 27-17 at intermission.

The Cavaliers continued to lead 47-38 at the end of three quarters.

Four players scored in double figures for Capital City. Corde Brown led the Cavaliers with 19 points, followed by Robert Gray with 18 points and Mitch Renfrow with 17 points. Ashden Cason also reached double figures with 11 points.

Capital City (3-1) will play Farmington for the tournament championship at 7:30 p.m. today. Farmington (2-0), the No. 4 seed, knocked off top-seeded Ste. Genevieve 70-55 in Thursday's other semifinal.
