Hull picks up match play victory for Team Missouri at Junior Girls Four State

COLUMBIA - Eldon's Kassidy Hull recorded one of Team Missouri's three match play singles wins Thursday on the final day of the 52nd annual Junior Girls Four State Championship at Country Club of Missouri.

Hull defeated Kansas' Victoria Klausner 4-and-2, adding a full point to Team Missouri's score. Klausner held a 2-up lead at the turn, winning four of the first nine holes. Hull limited the damage by winning the second and fifth holes.

However, Hull dominated the back nine, coming out and winning the 10th, 11th and 12th holes to take a 1-up lead with six holes to play. Both golfers parred the par-3 13th hole, then Hull went on another hot streak to seal the win.

Hull birdied the par-4 14th hole and parred the par-3 15th hole, building her lead to 3-up with three holes to play, clinching at least half a point for the match. She made a par on the par-5 16th hole, while Klausner finished with a bogey, to end the match.

Hull shot 7 over on the front nine but was 2 under on the seven holes she played on the back nine.

Also recording singles match play wins for Missouri were Ella Overstreet, who defeated Nebraska's Kaitlyn Hanna 2-and-1, and Taryn Overstreet, who defeated Kansas' Alison Comer 3-and-1.

Jefferson City's Greta Hinds fell 9-and-8 to Nebraska's Emily Karmazin in her singles match.

Kansas won this year's championship with a two-day total of eight points. Nebraska finished second with six points, and Missouri and Iowa tied for third with five points.

Kansas and Nebraska each won 3.5 points in Thursday's round. Missouri claimed three points and Iowa had two points.
