Prep Wrestling: Fatima finishes fourth

BROOKFIELD - The Fatima Comets came in fourth place out of 11 varsity teams Saturday at the Gary Haag Invitational.

The Comets tallied 37 points in the tournament, trailing only Centralia (69), Gallatin (58) and Hamilton-Penney (41).

Fatima also claimed three individual titles Saturday.

Jason Strope finished first at 113 pounds with a 4-0 record. Strope won two matches by fall and two by technical fall.

Lucas Laux added a first-place finish at 126, winning all three of his matches. Laux won one match by fall, one by technical fall and the third by major decision.

Luke Schroeder won the third title in the B bracket at 152. He finished with a 4-0 record, winning two of his matches by fall.

Jason Woodruff was third for the Comets at 195 with a 1-2 record, getting his win by fall.

Taking sixth place were Alex Even at 120, Blake Wiles at 145 and Caleb Reinkemeyer at 220. Even had an 0-4 record, while Wiles and Reinkemeyer were 0-5. Three of Wiles' losses were medical forfeits.

At the JV level, Zak Tune finished in second place in the B bracket at 126, going 2-1 with a pair of pins.

Fatima wrestles Tuesday in a quad-dual against Lone Jack, Diamond and Sherwood at Lone Jack.
